3 Boys, From Melbourne ventured out into the world of music with their band In Your Hands, Band members  Matthew Batty, Benjamin Meilak, James Meilak began playing all over Melbourne with some really great bands at many great venues. AND if that wasn't awesome enough they have released an debut CD released January 2012 titled 'Trials'.But you will never guess what!They are back Rocking out and breaking hearts. 

You know when they aren't saving children and rescuing animals they are giving back in the power of music. 2013 is going to be a big year for these boys.After Making Friends with Matt I got to the hard questions that you all want to know about.  

How do you describe your music,To people who haven't heard of you?
We're a big 3 piece sound with a hard hitting drummer, Blink, Foo Fighters, Living End.



If you had to save the world, How would you guys do it?
Through the universal language of music of course!



In Three words, how would you describe your live shows?
Very, Very Loud.


How did all of you meet, And what influenced you to start a band together?
 We've all been playing in bands for years, Somehow everything just came together at the right time for us. 
I had been looking for a new drummer and knew Benj through a friend. Tried him out and it was love at first sight! 
A little while ago we lost our bassist, it conveniently turned out that Benj had an equally talented brother who played bass.
 Might recruit his Dad next.

What Genre, Would you Classify Yourself as?
Rock/Punk

What is your favorite song of your own and the inspiration behind it?

Really hard to pick a favorite. I like Against, there were a few things that lined up in my life at the time which gave the inspiration behind the lyrics. You could put your own interpretation on it though.

 New Year, New You, What is some goals you aspire to reach this year? 

It's very exciting to feel like you're starting fresh. We've recorded an EP at the end of 2012, so we're making plans to have it mastered and released very soon. We hope to also have a video out for one of the songs and organize a tour.

After growing up listening to Blink 182, I couldn't go past them.

When You Put Four Best Friends from Brisbane in a room you get a room of talent coming together to share their passion of music. The quartet thought maybe they had something special and should take this serious hobby to the next level.You get the two ladies and two gents of Rawr Vanity who stepped onto the local music scene of March in 2010. After time practicing and perfecting everything the band were ready to share with the world 
exactly what they as a band stood for. 

As a group, Rawr Vanity continue to pave their musical journey one success

New Year, New You, What is some goals you aspire to reach this year? 

It would be awesome for our single off the new album to hit some charts . Release the album and tour to both Sydney and Melbourne again. Maybe even hit Perth this year!

 With The New Album, How has the music developed from when you first started? 

We write our songs now with a formula in our minds.

When we first wrote songs we went a bit crazy and put all this stuff in,
 But it wasn't always best for the song. I think we've Learnt how good songs are built from the ground up. 


What do you like to do,when your not making music? 

Matt: gym and Xbox

Wace: spend time with friends/family

Carly: I like going to the beach and road trips 

Jess: BBQ's with friends and Xbox


 How Was the Making of the Music Video Electric? 

Surprisingly not stressful to film but took 14 hours to edit  

we kinda decided to do it on a wim.

 We had no cash so just decided to have a go ourselves!

In three words, How would you describe your live shows?

Electric. Fun. Free.


How did all you meet and what influenced you to start a band together?
Carly Matt and Jess met in primary school and went to high school together as well. 
Jess met wacey when she went to JMC academy in 2009. Carly and Jess had just come out of another band and still really wanted to make music.
 Matt had always played music and such and wacey really wanted to start hitting the music scene in Brisbane we just kinda started jamming from there.


Where's your favorite place to go for inspiration? and what inspires you the most?

Places to go for inspiration I guess we just spend a lot of time together in any location. 

We usually go through road trips together and usually write about things and situations we 

see rather than what we're involved in.


If you could collaborate with anyone who would it be?

So many people! Matt Wright from the Getaway Plan,

 The script (whoever song writes for them)

What Genre, Would you Classify Yourself as? 
Well we say glitter/pop/dance/rock haha we're like a few genres in a blender

Clear Skies

Two Guys that had a dream took their love and turned into one of the best things that you could hear in music right now. Brooks and Jake have turned that dream into a duo Clear Skies, Brand New Pop-Rock band from Springfield. Launching themselves into the hearts of fans. their  first single Run To You such a success with the fans shown by such positive feedback, Their New Single 'I Gotta Know' has set the bar up one to amazing.

How did you come up with the band name and what is the history behind the name? 
Jake came up with the name in his sleep one day, we were searching for a band name that fit us uniquely and we couldn't come up with anything until it randomly popped into his head! The name just refers to a new beginning, a fresh start as musicians on our own in a new place, clear skies ahead! 


 Is there any bands or artists you look up too as a musical influence? 
Brooks really values Blink 182 as his major influence in his drumming style.
 Jake doesn't claim any one individual influence but has a love for all kinds of music from classical, to hip hop and anything in between. 


The Song 'I Gotta Know' is amazing, What was the inspiration behind it? 
The song was written about a girl that Jake was seeing at the time. She was sending him lots of mixed signals and he just wanted to know if she liked him back.

If you guys were to describe yourself in simple word choice.. What would you say?
 Precision. Everything we do is calculated down to the last detail as a band. We are dedicated to this group and to our fans and give 110% in everything we do musically. We owe it to ourselves and the people who listen to us to give them the very best product with every song and every item of merchandise. To do any less would be criminal! 


What made you want to be in a band? 
Brooks and Jake have both played music for a very long time. Both have been in bands since they were about 12 years old and really couldn't picture themselves doing anything else. 

What are the Names and Nicknames of the people in the band? 
The members of clear skies are Jake, lead songwriter,and Brooks, percussion.
 We don't have any nicknames persay; We have way too many inside jokes to keep track of though. We will bust out laughing about absolutely nothing most of the time and people will just sort of stare at us! 

 New Year, New You,What are some goals for 2013? 
We have many goals for 2013. But the principle goal is to continue to put out the best possible music, the best possible merch, play every show to the highest of our abilities, and give everyone the time of day no matter who they are or what they have to say. 

Where are you boys from?
 Brooks was born in Seattle, Washington but is from Silver Lake, Kansas.
 Jake was born in Honolulu, Hawaii but is from Manhattan, Kansas. 


 When I say Australia, What are some things that come to mind? 
Kangaroos!

a pop rock band like us from Melbourne!

 An easy classification would be to label us as Pop Rock. That's what we define ourselves as and we believe our fans do too.

When Giants Sleep

In our Second Giant Related Band, First 'Wake The Giants', Now we are waiting till 'When Giants Sleep' (Excuse the terrible Puns).
 When Giants Sleep are a Post Hardcore Band hailing from Canberra were formed in February 2011 and released their debut E.P."My Fight, Your Monsters" early 2012.

 When Giants Sleep have already made a big name for themselves by playing many shows locally and interstate, sharing the stage with many renowned bands such as the likes of Confession, Northlane, Hands Like Houses, In Hearts Wake, Buried In Verona, The Plot In You (USA), Silent Screams (UK), Sienna Skies, PledgeThis!, Save The Clocktower, Dream On Dreamer, In Fear and Faith (USA), Saviour and many other talented local acts. You Know they are good, playing with only the Best of the Best! 

But When They aren't sleeping and being totally awesome, they took the time out to answer a few questions answered by the totally awesome Guitarist  Robert Suthern.

Where are you from?Canberra, Australia

How did you get the name "When Giants Sleep?
I came up with it randomly after thinking of heaps of different names, and everyone seemed 

to agree on it, not a very exciting story really!  (laughs)


How do you describe your music to people, who haven’t heard of you?
Amity crossed Getaway Plan, that's what i usually say anyway,

or the softest band at a hardcore show or the heaviest band at a softer show. We're smack bang in the middle.


If a song would play, when you walked into a room what would it be?

New Year, New You, What is some goals you aspire to reach this year?
We will have a professional film clip done by Ben Clements (House Vs Hurricane, Amity Affliction) coming out within the next few months as well as writing a whole lot more this year, we have about 6 new songs in the writing process at the moment!

What is your favourite song of your own and the inspiration behind it?
Reluctant Weather, Helpful Hands - In general it is about being completely defeated. The writing style towards that song is open ended and people can interpret  that as there own experience, people can make their own stories out of the lyrics. Also the guitar writing style is something we never had really done before, and it adds a whole new element to our set (video to be released in march) (and we can't wait to see it either)


For someone who never went to one of your shows, What would they expect?

An Energetic live performance with heart and soul put into every song.



If you could collaborate with anyone who would it be?
Anyone who's willing to share some piece of mind with us and a musical bromance, and someone that we can get along with and work well together.


You have played support to so many talented artists,how was this experience for you?

Absolutely amazing, we can not be more thankful for all the bands we have played for and all the people we have met throughout our whole journey of playing. It's crazy, some of the bands we grew up listening to in college we are now sharing the stage with!

Ryan then gave us the news we've all been waiting for - NEW MUSIC!

"I think we're like 3 weeks away from a new single," Ryan said. "In fact we should be getting back the final version in the next couple of days."As far as a third album goes, Ryan says that spring or summer is a possibility, but nothing's official yet. So fans keep updated on that.

 

The Wanted and One Direction Battle of the Music!!

So Everybody knows The Wanted and One Direction aren't signing up  to be each others best friends forever any time soon, The Battle of bands continues.... with The UK band the wanted , who won 'Favorite Breakout Artist' at the People's Choice Awards'. But the biggest Bomb Shell is when Jay recently said they are releasing an album this year.... not one BUT TWO!! Their First Released will be titled "Third Strike".

Jay recently said that they might drop one album in April and another toward the end of the year.

Before we all start cheering we have to take into account One Direction who have just signed a fancy new three album contract.

 An album a year - but the clever part is they get the big pay day after the three years.

While They are on Break right now the Cheeky One Direction boys have hit the studio already following the break up of Harry Styles and Taylor Swift .... which was rumored to of ended because Taylor text Harry instead of her ex saying I miss you and wish you were here... AWKWARD SILENCE!!.

Blake Harnage of VersaEmerge has announced late last  year that the band will be releasing their long-awaited new album "Another Atmosphere" early in 2013. Because they haven't released some music for a while this should be just what the fans have been waiting for. '

Mayday Parade

This is incredible news for Mayday Parade first they have announced they resigned to Fearless Records to create their new and forth up and coming album.The band will start writing their long-awaited new album in Florida.You can read an article from the announcement.

Although little of the new album has officially been written, Mayday Parade lead singer Derek Sanders was audibly excited to get the ball rolling.We're going to spend about a month at a beach house in Florida writing together. We've all been working on ideas." No official recording location has been nailed down yet.

I don't know about you but New Mayday Parade will be perfection!!..


The Summer Set - New Album

Arizona rockers The Summer Set announced they have signed to Fearless Records and will be releasing a new album in early 2013. I don't know how they can get any better then their last album, Titled "Everything's Fine" which still makes it to my top music on my ipod. But I am 100% Keen to hear it just like you would be. But you can Catch The Summer Set on their New Tour with We The In Crowd and Go Radio called Wake Up And Be Awesome.
Which will hit 30 cities across the US From February 21st.

It is tours as awesome as this that makes me so sad that I'm Not American.!!


The Cab

If you know me personally you would know I love The Cab so much, So to hear the news that Alex Deleon has hit the studios early this year for a new album pleases me so much. There is no date on this new album or any details about it. But with the success of their album Symphony Soldier. The New Music will be Amazing.
 
Another Thing for The Cab Fans, you will love the New For Our Hero track, released with their new Music Video which features  Young WOLVES featuring (and co-written with) their good friend Alexander Deleon of The Cab.

That News For me was enough to Know that they were friends, the First Ever For Our Hero Song I had heard was infact their cover of I'll Run by The Cab. After they did the cover they became good friends with Alex.

Panic At the Disco: Forth Album



According to an interview made by Panic! At The Disco’s bassist–Dallon Weekes–, the band’s fourth album, following “Vices & Virtues” would be finished soon. The album would feature 12 or 13 songs. Only Time will tell when This album will be released but An Album that took a year to write will be worth the wait.


Mumford and Sons
The boys have announced they are back in the recording studio late last year so we should be able to hear the new record some point this year.

So he confirmed last year that another album is on the way as soon as he released the first one. Can someone say Dedication!

How can anyone not be excited for the new Ed Sheeran Tracks.'

 working on her first studio album, Daydreamin' which is due for release in early 2013. Grande commented on the album saying: "They can expect a lot of honesty. It's like a direct... you know, it's like it used to be pages from my diary, instead of keeping diary, I would write songs about what was happening in my life. So it's really personal. Grande worked with artists like Sky Blue from LMFAO, 3OH!3 Kool Kojak, and Pebe Sebet on the album. She was also working in the studio with Jonas Brothers singer Nick Jonas^[ It was stated by Grande in an interview that the second single from her debut album would be released around Valentine's Day of 2013.

On May 24, 2012, Eminem announced he is working on his next studio album.It is set to be released in 2013. Even without a title or release the album was named to multiple "Most Anticipated Albums of 2013" lists including MTV, sixth by Complex Magazine and fifth by XXL Magazine.

Pot Smoker, Bieber is set to come out with an Acoustic album in 2013. Titled Believe 2.0
with the recently leaked "Make You Believe" as a possible single.

But the Big question is, how successful will this album be, he has already proved to be a man you know getting police tickets, fighting security guards, smoking the hell out of the word "YOLO". I wonder if their will be any Justin Break up Songs to Selena Gomez?



Lady Gaga will return to the party scene with ARTPOP for her little monsters, and also the name is meant to be picked by the little monsters. The "Born This Way" diva has big plans for her fourth album, ARTPOP, including two separate volumes, a documentary film and a "multimedia app." What more could she possibly give to her fans.
 It will debut in spring 2013.

Miley Cyrus is getting "very adult" with her new tunes having all these instagram photos with rappers makes me very scared to hear this new album with songs by Pharrell Williams. . please can someone tell her no more!!.

Nicki Minaj

The newest American Idol judge will follow up her Re-Up release with a new album in 2013 ( The album, which very likely may be called Pink Friday: The Pinkprint, will favor rap to pop songs).

Minaj has even collected a range of tracks over which she will grunt random words and sounds similar to the work she did on ‘Roman Reloaded’.

However, those of you eager to hear Minaj’s next album will have to wait a bit long for her to share the exact release date of the set because that is the one topic that she refused to discuss.

 

Katy Perry

All you Katy Cats are going to be quite surprised with the new and fourth Album it is rumored to be quite a dark album. The New Album is Set to Drop This Summer.

Katy's new sound will no doubt reach far beyond what we've seen from the past while still maintaining her signature single-making status.

Australia is having a scorching summer already, and you know what goes good with hot weather?
Music Festivals Just what everyone needs loud music, dancing, and heat not to mention friends and fun as well. So Today Music Monday is going to be those summer type songs that get you dancing and through those blasing hot days.

With summer smash hit written all over it, the guys team up with the vocal expertise of Mr Wilson to create one super hot club weapon. It is most catchy song I am currently in love with it.

2. Can't Stop Won't Stop- Up and Away

I just found this song, with the sick beat, The Rap and it just makes you want to Kick back, relax and grab yourself a beverage.
It Legit is so catchy and as I type this I did just download the song. It is the song of the Summer Playlist!.

3. Chase Me Down- Northie

All Itunes needs a bit of Northie, The Sydney/Central Coast DJ Sets his music too stun with his incredible talent and his DJ sets that gets everyone up and dancing. Chase Me Down is the song of the moment. Click play and you will agree! Trust me Remember that Name, Because Northie Will be making it big in 2013 and beyond.

 

4. Bombs Away- Party Bass

 

Despite the Fact they sound amazing live, The music is so damn catchy and easy to sing along to, This song works when your dancing with your friends or even those Festival set up. Not to mention "There is not enough Bass". Bombs Away are skyrocketing in the charts with their electo dance tunes.

 

5. Example- Changed The Way You Kissed Me

 

 

Being a big fan of British Music, a Bigger Fan of Example, This is a must have on any hot day.

 He sings, He raps and yet Australian's have no clue what he is even though he clearly tweeted he is the back back up dancer for Calvin Harris.

 You can see why this made it's way to the number one single. There is never a bad song from Example.
